What the service is

This Price Is Right collects grocery prices from public store flyers and from shoppers who record the prices they see, keeps a history of them, and tells you when a price is low compared with that history. It is information to help you decide, not a promise.

• Prices change. A flyer price can end early, a shelf price can differ from a website, and a shopper can mistype. The price on the shelf is the price. Check it before you buy.
• “Lowest in N months” means lowest in our records for your market over that many months of history — not the lowest price that ever existed anywhere.
• Alerts can be late or missed. Watches are checked about once a day, flyer sources can be unavailable, and email can fail. An alert is a heads-up, not a guarantee that a deal is still on.
• We are not affiliated with any store, with Flipp, or with Anthropic. Store names and logos belong to their owners.

Your account

• One account per person. Use your own email address and a password only you know.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account. Sign out on shared devices; signing out ends your session on every device at once.
• You must be at least 13 to use the site.
• Signups may require an invite code while the site is small.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape the site or hit its API with scripts. The only automated access allowed is the official browser extension and app, using a collector token from your own account.
• Copy, resell, or redistribute the price data in bulk.
• Record prices you did not actually see, invent products, or upload receipts that are not yours or images that are not receipts.
• Work around rate limits, probe for weaknesses, or interfere with other users.
• Create more than one account, or use someone else’s.

Prices you contribute

Prices you record — through the extension, a barcode scan, or a receipt — become part of the shared price history for your market. You give us permission to store them and show them to other users as store, item, price and date, without your name or email attached, and to keep them in that de-identified form after your account is deleted. You keep any rights you have in your own receipts and photos; we store no receipt photos at all (see the Privacy Policy).

The browser extension

• The extension records prices only from pages you open yourself on supported retailer sites (Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Stine and Albertsons today). It never loads a page, runs a search, or sends a request to the retailer on its own. Close the tab and it is silent.
• Your browsing of a retailer’s site is governed by that retailer’s terms; you are responsible for following them.
• We may change what the extension collects, add or drop supported sites, or turn it off. Tokens can be revoked from your Settings page at any time.

Receipt reading

When you upload a receipt, the photo is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to be read into line items, and then discarded — it is never stored. You review the lines before anything is recorded, and what you confirm is what goes into the price history. Reading is limited to a few receipts every ten minutes per account because each read costs money.

Ending your account

You can stop using the site at any time and ask the site owner to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we can change or shut down the service. When an account is closed, its data is handled as the Privacy Policy describes.

No warranties, in plain words

The service is provided as-is. We do not promise that prices are accurate, that the site is always up, that alerts arrive, or that the service will keep running. You use the price information at your own risk, and you decide what to buy. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a purchase decision, a missed deal, lost data, or the site being unavailable, and our total liability to you for anything related to the service is limited to what you paid us to use it — which today is nothing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA.

Changes to these terms

When the terms change, the effective date at the top moves and the “what changed” line says what is different. Keep using the site after a change and the new version applies to you.
